If you are looking to diversify your investment portfolio, coin collection, or simply looking for a special gift, bullion coins and bars are unique options. Specially minted coins such as the American Gold Eagle, the Canadian Maple, and the South African Krugerrand are some of the most beautiful pieces crafted, and are a great way to learn history. Each mint mark, design, and condition tell a new story.

Herb’s Coins buys and sells a variety of both gold and silver bullion coins, silver bars, special commemorative and anniversary editions. We also carry the U.S. Silver Eagles including the latest 2015 edition.

American St. Gaudens Double Eagle

The American St. Gaudens Double Eagle is considered the most beautiful coin produced in the United States with the obverse (heads) featuring the American sculpture August Saint-Gaudens victorious Lady Liberty carrying an olive branch in her left hand, and a torch in her right. The reverse (tails) has a majestic young eagle in flight. This collectible item embodies US history, its ideals, and the growing value of gold. It is 90% gold and 10% copper alloy, and was minted between 1907-1932.

American Gold Eagle

The Gold Eagle is America’s gold bullion coin since 1985. St. Gaudens Double Eagle’s Lady Liberty inspires the obverse, and sculptor Miley Busiek’s family of eagle highlights the reverse. Its 22 karat gold content, purity, and weight are guaranteed by the United States Government, and accepted in major investment markets worldwide.

Canadian Maple

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is the official bullion gold coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1979. It is one of the purest gold coins with 99.99% gold content. We also carry the Silver, the Platinum, and the Palladium Maple Leaf.

Austrian Vienna Philharmonic

The Austrian bullion gold and silver coins celebrate the nation’s famous musical tradition by featuring musical instruments of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Minted since 1989 the gold coin uses pure metal (999.9 fine) and is available in four different sizes—1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, and 1/10oz. According to the World Gold Council the Vienna Philharmonic was the best selling gold coin in 1992,1995,1996.

Australian Kangaroo

The Australian Perth Mint’s Kangaroo bullion gold coins are 99.99% pure gold. Since 1989 the iconic wild animal of Australia, the kangaroo graces the bullion gold coins. This is a rarity not only for its gold content but also for the annual change of design, making it a collector’s delight.

Chinese Panda

The Gold Panda is China’s first bullion coin. In mintage since 1982, like its Australian counterpart, it changes design every year (although 2001 and 2002 had the same design). In 2010 they were completely sold out. The internationally identified image of a playful panda adorns the obverse and the reverse features the Taoist Temple of Heaven in Beijing. It’s gold content is 99.9%.
